Our Funders

This project is part of the National Challenge Fund, established under the government’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), funded by the EU’s Recovery and Resilience Facility. The fund is coordinated by Taighde Éireann – Research Ireland.

We are proud to have collaborated with a network of dedicated partners including community and library services and commercial, public sector and non-governmental organisations, and have built a network of 427 stakeholders, 272 older adults, and 45 organisations across 22 counties and 6 nations.

Who we have engaged with

We have engaged with individuals learning to develop their Cyber Safety knowledge through a variety of methods, such as conducting interviews to understand their specific cybersecurity needs, and also to gather input from Digital Educators on the best strategies for teaching cyber safety knowledge.

In addition, we’ve hosted participatory design workshops, where we have worked together with learners to co-create resources that address current cyber safety concerns, with the aim of empowering participants by including their perspectives in the process.

Through these collaborative efforts, we continue to develop effective, user-centered solutions for promoting cyber safety.

Stakeholder involvement

We have actively engaged with a diverse group of stakeholders, including representatives from the Public Sector, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), Community & Library Services, and Commercial Organisations. These stakeholders have shown significant interest in our project, recognizing the importance of promoting cybersecurity and digital literacy within Ireland and improving existing supports.

From public sector entities focused on improving digital infrastructure, to NGOs advocating for vulnerable populations, each has voiced strong support for the Cybersafety project’s potential to enhance safety and accessibility in this increasingly digital era. Community and library services have been key partners to help us extend our reach and integrate our cybersecurity resources into their existing programs.

The enthusiasm and collaboration from these stakeholders have reinforced the importance of the project’s mission and its capacity to make a meaningful impact on digital safety across different vulnerable populations within Ireland.

Cyber Safety on Screen

We were thrilled to have our Cyber Safety project featured on RTÉ’s show “10 Things to Know About” on the 11th of November 2024. The episode highlighted our resources, including the Cybersafety Card Game, Cyberadvice Booklet, and our soon-to-launch E-Learning Course, as well as interviews with participants we have engaged with through workshops and community events, with the hope of equipping them with the skills they need to navigate the digital world confidently and securely. This milestone reflects our commitment to making the online space safer for everyone. Click here to view the full episode on RTÉ Player.
