Celebrating Creativity: Winning Videos from our Competition for Adults with Intellectual Disabilities

Our recent video competition for adults with intellectual disabilities was a fantastic success, and we are incredibly proud of everyone who took part. The creativity, teamwork, and thoughtful storytelling shown across all entries truly impressed us, making the judging process challenging!

We wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to all entrants for their brilliant work and enthusiasm. Each video reflected important online safety messages based on our resources in engaging and accessible ways. Now, to announce the winners:

🏆 First place was awarded to Cork’s Popes Quay Horizon Hub for their short film, “Think Before You Type.” This emotional and impactful story explores the issue of cyberbullying through the lens of a friend group, highlighting the real-life effects online behaviour can have, encouraging viewers to think carefully before posting or messaging online, and sharing awareness of resources that can help.

🏅 Second place went to Cork’s South Main Street Horizon Hub for their short film, “The Phisher.” This video focused on the importance of keeping personal information private when using the internet, including knowing when and when not to accept cookies. Honourable mention to the fantastic Cookie Monster costume!

To recognise everyone’s hard work, all participants received a certificate for taking part in the video-making process. In addition, the Popes Quay Horizon Hub, as first-place winners, received a brand-new Nintendo Switch 2, while the South Main Street Horizon Hub were awarded a cinema voucher, giving them the opportunity to enjoy a film outing of their choice together.
